Erika Lust is a Swedish filmmaker, writer, and producer, and one of the most recognized pioneers of feminist and ethical porn. In 2007, she founded her own production company in Barcelona, and in 2013 she launched XConfessions, which turns anonymous confessions from real people into cinematic films and is still going strong. Her work soon reached beyond the industry: in 2019 the BBC named her one of its 100 Women, and in 2022 The New York Times profiled her. In 2023, she launched The Porn Conversation to promote porn literacy, and in November 2025 she received the Vanguard Award at the Euro XMAs. With more than 200 adult films behind her, she has always made them with a critical eye and a sense of responsibility toward the people on screen and the people watching. To dig deeper into her story, you can read her memoir, Lust: Pleasure, Performance, Power.
